OBJECTIVE

           Dear Viewers KONGU ENGINEERING COLLEGE Conducting Workshop. This workshop focuses on the use of Biomedical Engineering Application Toolkit – miBEAT (www.mibeat.co), an open-hardware platform, to help Biomedical Engineers learn and develop hardware systems to obtain wireless 'Medical Grade' signals in real time over Android Smart Phones.

         Students, researchers and faculty can learn and deploy the concepts to obtain High Definition Medical Grade signals such as ECG, EMG, PPG and EOG from 3 or 2 electrodes and also by mere touch! (without electrodes).

 Highlights of the workshop are:
  • Acquisition of Biomedical Signals in real time on Android Phones
  • 2 electrode v/s 3 electrode system design
  • Real time Filter Implementation design
  • Complete signal processing of ECG using MATLAB.
PROGRAMME CONTENTS
  •  Basic concepts of Biomedical Signals.
  •  Real time acquisition using miBEAT an Openhardware (www.mibeat.co) on Android Phone
  •  Technique for Real time filter implementation in Microcontroller from MATLAB
  •  Complete MATLAB coding to extract Heart Rate Variability in Time, Frequency and Non-  linear        plot from ECG signal by using wavelets.
RESOURCE PERSONS

Sessions will be handled by MD & CEO of Cardea Labs, a Stanford India Biodesign Alumni and is credited with development of India’s first ECG on any Mobile Phone Technology. He is awarded by MIT, USA and is a TED speaker.

 REGISTRATION FEE

Faculty:
Rs.250 /- for IETE Corporate members
Rs.400/- for non-IETE members

Student:
Rs.250/- for ISF student members
Rs.400 for non-ISF student members

Demand Draft should be taken in favor of “THE INSTITUTION OF ELECTRONICS AND

Accommodation will be provided on chargeable basis.
