About The Workshop

        Dear viewers sastra university Conducting Workshop on advanced histotechnology. Histotechnology centers on the detection of tissue abnormalities for the diagnosis / treatment / research over the diseases causing abnormalities.

Hands on training
  • Techniques involved in fixation & preparation of different solutions for histology
  • Instrumentation techniques – Automated tissue processor (Leica TP1020), Embedding stations (Leica EG1150 H), Microtomes (Leica RM2125 RTS), Staining station (ST4040), Trinocular Light Microscope/Phase Contrast Microscope (Nikon Eclipse Ci) / Stereozoom Microscope (SMZ 1000)
  • with DS-Fi2 Digital cameras.
  • Processing of organs / tissues, microtomy, staining procedures with emphasis on Haematoxylin & Eosin technique as per ISO-IEC
  • 17025 norms
  • Perform complex procedures for special staining techniques in histochemistry
  • Microscopic analysis of different animal tissues/ organs & imaging using advanced imaging systems
Course Objectives

Upon the conclusion of this workshop, the participant will be able to:
  • Recognize factors that affect histological procedures & results, identification of tissue/ organ architecture, cell components & their staining characteristics.
  • Understand the functional histology / microscopic architecture of 25 organs / tissues including brain, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, heart, aorta, thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, stomach, intestine, lungs, liver, kidney, etc.
  • Compare / contrast the different cellular components using various histochemical techniques.
  • Establish & perform preventative / corrective maintenance of equipment.
  • Establish quality control measures to maintain accuracy / precision.
Registration Fees

Early bird registration : Rs. 3000/- per participant (Before October 3, 2016).
Registration after October 4, 2016: Rs. 4000/- per participant.
